Summer is my favorite season of the year and I’m always looking forward to summer travels and fun activities in the sun with my girlfriends. I recently spent a few days exploring Austin and Uber helped my friend Daniella and I get around the city.

When we first arrived in Austin, it was already 90 degrees so it was quite hot. After checking into our hotel and cooling off we made plans to meet another friend at a local park for a fun picnic. I scheduled an uberXL to pick up Daniella and I from our hotel and drop us off at the Auditorium Shores, an urban park located in downtown Austin. When scheduling our uberXL I made sure to use Uber’s Trusted Contacts feature to share my location with our friend who was meeting us at the park. This made it easy for her to locate where we were and notify her when we arrived safely.

We found each other right away and found the perfect spot for our picnic. The park had dogs running around, families walking along the path and others enjoying the perfect evening. We spent some time snacking on fruits and chips of course and had a blast catching up with one another.

After our summer picnic in Austin, we called another uberXL to get our group back to our hotel for the night. The best part about traveling in groups is getting to our destinations together. It’s also super easy to invite friends to split the fare in the Uber app. I love getting to my summer activities in an uberXL with my friends all summer long!
