EASTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE: CELEBRITY EDGE
I was recently invited to experience the Eastern Caribbean cruise on the new Celebrity Edge ship with Celebrity Cruises. I’ve been on a few cruises and each time I’ve learned to enjoy my experience even more. The new Celebrity Edge launched late last year and I’m honored to be able to experience the new ship and take you through my experience.
Celebrity Edge has a few itineraries through the Caribbean and European countries. I went on the 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise which started from Fort Lauderdale and had stopped in Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands, and St. Maarten. All three places I’ve never experienced so I was very excited to finally visit. The check-in process was an easy and quick process.
CELEBRITY EDGE
There’s a variety of suites and staterooms to choose from. I had the infinite verandas which are very spacious for two people. With a touch of a button, the room the living room space turns into a veranda and provides fresh air from the sea. The bathroom is also spacious and has a lot of space for storage.
ENTERTAINMENT
There’s plenty of entertainment throughout the ship so you never get bored
- Shopping
- The theatre for live entertainment
- The Club
- Outdoor and indoor pool
- Rooftop Garden
DINING
With over 25 unique dining options, you will never be hungry! I think the best part of the ship is the food! The restaurants are amazing and my favorite are the specialty restaurants which included Eden and Le Petit Chef & Friends. Eden had really unique, fun dishes and they even had special performances throughout dinner. Le Petit Chef is special due to its custom 3D table animation presentation which was really fun to watch! You can find the full list of restaurants here.
The Bars and lounges on The Edge are also one of my favorite places to hang out. The bars are beautifully decorated and have some of the best and unique cocktails I’ve had!
SPA
- SEA Thermal Suite
- Spa Treatments
- Salon and Barber
- Fitness Center
- MedSpa
DESTINATIONS
For each destination, the cruise offers tours if it’s something guests are interested in doing at an extra cost. The only day I opted for a tour was in the British Virgin Islands.
PUERTO RICO
Our first stop on the cruise was Puerto Rico where we had a few hours to explore Old San Juan. The town is so cute, full of color and very Instagrammable. Try to walk around get lost and you’ll find some of the cutest streets every corner you turn. The one thing you do not want to miss is the Umbrella Sky Project installation on La Fortaleza street.
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
There is not much at the port in the British Virgin Islands, I highly recommend opting for a tour for this day. I had opted for the half day tour to Virgin Gorda Baths and it was beautiful! I spent the day on the beach and the water is amazing!
ST. MAARTEN
St. Maarten is the last stop of our cruise and we stopped in Philipsburg. The country is split by the Dutch and the French, where the French side is named Saint Martin. Philipsburg is very cute, with colorful umbrellas along the beach which can be rented for use. The street is also fun to walk around and has cute buildings to photograph as well.
I had so much fun cruising on the new Celebrity Edge with Celebrity Cruises and would love to go on more cruises with them in the future!
