Unico 20º87º in Riviera Maya turns uno in March and I was one of the many other influencers who was invited to attend their big birthday celebration. There’s been a lot of buzz about the new hotel within the last year and when I was invited to attend I was more than excited to see what the hype was all about! I’ve been to Mexico more than a dozen times and loved visiting since I was a kid. This was actually my very first time visiting the Riviera Maya, located in the eastern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Unico 20º87º Riviera Maya

Unico 20º87º is an adults-only all-inclusive luxury hotel in Riviera Maya, an hour and a half from the Cancun airport making it super convenient to travel to. The property can help schedule a shuttle from the airport and they even offer Wi-Fi on the shuttle, perfect for influencers like me who’s always on the internet! The property is currently part of The Leading Hotels of the World group so you know it’s going to provide top luxury experiences.

Once my guest and I arrived at the property, we were greeted by the staff to check in. The lobby and decoration of the hotel is a mix of modern luxury and inspired by the region’s history. The staff made me feel welcomed and special right away. We were shown a selection of scents to smell and asked for our favorite as it would then be placed in our room. Once we had our key, we were greeted by our host. All of the hotel accommodations feature an Anfitrion, a personalized local host who helps cater to your every need. We were able to text him/her to help make dinner reservations or make any special requests.

ROOM & SUITES

The property has 9 different style rooms. We were in the Alcoba Ocean View Suite. Our room had a balcony with an outdoor tub which I made sure to use daily. The ocean views were perfect for the morning sunrises and they were always incredible to watch! Each room has special touches of handmade materials sourced from the area.

The property has three pools:

• La Unica is a large pool made to hang out and socialize
• The 20°87° has a swim up bar and daily DJs for live music. There’s also a connecting infinity pool
• La Escondida has a swim up bar and more relaxing with mellow music

UNICO TURNS UNO!

Unico turns uno and they celebrated with a big pool party with FunBoy floats and Diff Eyewear for the group! The party had music throughout the day and at night they had a Mexican Market with tacos, churros, dessert bar, pinata party and a silent disco party to end the night!

ACTIVITIES & TOURS

• Watersport Activities are included: Hobie Cat Wave catamaran, Kayaks, Pedal Boats and Paddle Boards
• Daily Tours at an extra cost includes Swimming with Dolphins, Chitzen Itza, Garrafon Natural Reef Park, Coba/Tulum Tours, Xtreme Mayan Jungle tour and so much more!

Our group did the Xtreme Mayan Jungle tour where we visited 3 cenotes, zip-lined through the jungle, kayaked, had lunch with the locals and explored the Tankah Maya Community. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend doing it!

DINING

• Mi Carisa – Italian dining experience is a favorite of mine. Order the Ravioli!
• Cueva Siete – Mexican restaurant inspired by the Yucatecan
• Mura House – Asian inspired restaurant with a concentration on Japanese food
• 2087 Restaurant – Buffet style and daily buffet breakfast
• Inez Cafe – Quick to go cafe. My favorite is the chia pudding every morning!

Unico is one of the best all-inclusive resorts I’ve experienced! From the staff, the food and the activities provided I felt like I was truly in paradise and taken care of! The resort is perfect for special occasions or for anyone looking for a week in paradise.
