If you’re looking for a getaway from New York, I highly suggest spending a few nights at Cedar Lakes Estate! I recently had the opportunity to visit the property for 3 nights to experience their winter activities and it was magical! The property is one of the most popular wedding venues in the state but this year during the summer and winter they’re offering guests to visit, relax, get away for a minimum of 4 night stays.

The property is short of a two-hour drive from New York City, I found it to be super convenient since I typically don’t like being in a car for very long.

WHAT’S INCLUDED DURING YOUR STAY

Winter getaways are available starting from January 7, 2021, for 4 nights from Thursday-Monday. You can learn more here and see the itinerary. All meals are included in your stay. The food is amazing! You get breakfast, picnic lunch, and 3-course meals for dinner. They even had snacks available for guests to pick up at the Canteen whenever they want for free.

ROOMS

The Cottages at Cedar Lakes Estate is absolutely beautiful and super cozy. I stayed in Sleepy Pine Cottages. It’s spacious, cozy, and super cute. If you’re looking for something bigger with a fireplace and kitchen, I recommend Blue Bird. We got super lucky during our stay and witness some snow!

If you’re staying with a group of friends and/or family I had the opportunity to visit the Farmhouse and it’s stunning! It’s a two-story house with multiple bedrooms and this is where typically the Bridal Suite when couples are getting married.

ACTIVITIES

There are plenty of activities they offer to keep you busy. When making your reservation you can reserve and book additional activities at an additional cost per person.

• Activities on the lake: During the summer months guest can enjoy swimming in the lake
• Ice Skating: The rink is beautiful with twinkle lights and it’s free!
• Mountaintop at Sunset: I highly recommend this. The mountaintop was beautiful at sunset with a fireplace, Ford pick-up truck for photos and you get to spend the evening making smores
• Movie in the Barn: The barn is so beautiful and they have the most gorgeous set up for each party to enjoy a night in with drinks, popcorn, and candy
• Dinner on the Ice Rink: Having dinner on the rink is quite magical!
• Pie Making Class: We got to experience a pie-making class and it was so much fun learning how to make an apple pie. Yes – it was delicious too!
• Foraging Board: If you love charcuterie boards this is for you!
• Cocktail Making Class: Ryan and I love making cocktails and wish we had time to do this one
• Paint Class: If you’re an artist and like to paint this is for you!
• Wreath Making Class: Make a beautiful wreath with locally sourced evergreens

I absolutely recommend booking a stay at Cedar Lakes Estate for a winter getaway. Ryan and I had so much fun and would love to come back! It was the perfect getaway from New York City.
