INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOTS IN RENO TAHOE

I recently visited Reno Tahoe with the Reno Tahoe Tourism Board. To be honest, I grew up assuming Reno was a town full of casinos but it has much more than just casinos. Reno is full of history, culture, art, adventure and so much more! I loved that there was easy access to all types of activities that cater to everyone. As someone who loves culture, history, and exploring I was able to spend a few days capturing the most Instagrammable spots in Reno Tahoe that will make you want to visit asap!

1. THE RENO ARCH

The Reno Arch is an iconic landmark in Reno so I had to make sure I got the perfect shot. I love the bright blue sign and it’s conveniently located on Virginia Street right by the Circus Circus hotel. A great area to explore and walk around the city. The original Reno sign is in front of the Renaissance Hotel only a few minutes away and can be also a great photo opt.

2. NEVADA ART MUSEUM

Who doesn’t love visiting art museums when visiting a new city? The best part about the Nevada Art Museum is the weekend brunch and rooftop! Spend a few hours with girlfriends at brunch, head upstairs to enjoy the beautiful view before learning about the history and art around the world. You’ll definitely capture a couple Instagrammable shots here.

3. VIRGINIA CITY

Virginia City is a small town full of color, energy and plenty of Instagrammable spots. One of my favorite places during my trip was exploring this old mining town. Only 40 minutes from Reno, Virginia City is a spot visitors should not miss. You’ll find tons of cute souvenir shops, candy shops, saloons and even a fun gun show in town.

4. TAHOE

Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North American and one of the most stunning lakes I’ve visited. The crystal clear blue water and rock formations in the lake allows for amazing photos. An easy hour drive from Reno, visitors should not miss out on visiting. Sand Harbor is the perfect location for swimming and activities such as stand up paddleboarding.

5. BONSAI ROCK

Bonsai Rock is a great spot for sunset and one of the most popular photo spot in Tahoe. It’s located just south of Sand Harbor.

6. HIKING, BIKING AROUND TAHOE

There’s plenty of outdoor activities around Tahoe that will provide some of the most stunning photos. Get out, explore and find the most breathtaking views.

7. PLAYA ART PARK

The Playa Art Park consists of art pieces that were from Burning Man throughout the years. It’s beautiful to see how people have come together to build such beautiful art pieces.

8. CITY MURALS

The city has more than 80 murals painted by local, national and international artists. It’s beautiful to see so much artwork around the city.

9. FOOD TRUCK FRIDAYS

If you’re a foodie, you’ll want to visit Food Truck Friday at the Idlewild Park. With dozens of food trucks lined up, there’s plenty of amazing Instagrammable foodie photo options. My mango rose was almost too pretty to eat.

10. HUB COFFEE ROASTERS

Reno is known for amazing coffee and one of the best is at Hub Coffee Roasters. It can get crowded because it’s seriously that good! Do not visit without trying their chocolate croissant either!

Thank you again to Visit Reno Tahoe for showing me an amazing time. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I’ve fallen in love with the city. Reno is definitely not all about casinos but has a diversified culture that compliments everyone’s interests. There were so many beautiful moments I was able to capture and I hope I’ve inspired you to visit Reno Tahoe!

Beautiful shots. Did you check out Crystal Peak? Thousands of white Crystal’s on top of the ridge.

I called the Nevada Art Museum inquiring about rooftop weekend brunch dining & they had no idea what I was talking about.. was your rooftop brunch elsewhere?

      Hi Ellen,

The brunch is on the main lobby floor. The rooftop is only to enjoy but I was able to have a few dishes on the rooftop for photos. Hope that helps!
