There are plenty of hotels that impress me but the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento, Italy has shot up my list as one of the most luxurious hotels I’ve experienced. It is also part of Leading Hotels of the World and I sure know why! I felt like royalty during my stay! The hotel is located in the center of Sorrento with views overlooking the Gulf of Naples. The hotel also has a private lift for guests to access the ferry terminal which makes it super convenient.

CHECKING IN: GRAND HOTEL EXCELSIOR VITTORIA

Ryan and I arrived early morning to drop off our luggage before spending a few hours in Capri. When we arrived the staff immediately greeted us and helped us with our luggage. The entrance of the hotel is at the main square in Sorrento. The hotel has everything you need – gym, spa, a large pool, restaurants and lush green gardens surrounding the property.

THE ROOM

The hotel has 84 rooms and suites with original furniture. I felt so special that we were offered one of the best suites on the property! The moment I walked into my room I could not believe where I was sleeping! The room felt like I had stepped back in time. The decoration in the room was impeccable. The interior design was stunning with a gorgeous chandelier and old antiques! The bathroom is also very beautiful with white marble and the coolest bathtub! We had three private balconies and our very own piano in the room. The main balcony overlooked the entire Gulf of Naples and I was truly blown away.

AMENITIES

Gym – The gym is open to guests and guests can request a personal trainer.

Spa – Book a spa day at the Boutique Spa La Serra for a facial or massage.

Pool – Spend a day swimming in the pool with a whirlpool hydro-massage.

RESTAURANTS

Breakfast is free every morning at the Vittoria Breakfast Room. Even the breakfast is quite grand!

Terrazza Bosquet is their Michelin star restaurant you cannot miss!! We had the 5 course tasting menu at 110 euros and it was worth every penny! Every dish was unique and delicious. I highly recommend making reservations and getting the tasting menu.

Orangerie is the pool side bar and the Vittoria Bar is open for meeting with a friend for drinks and listening to live music. The outside area is also great for light snacks and enjoy the view. Just be careful of the seagulls there, they will eat all of your snacks!

This hotel is definitely GRAND! If you’re looking for a hotel in Sorrento, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s in a great location, it’s also not too far from other nearby towns and islands (Pompeii, Capri, Positano and Amalfi).
