WOMEN’S JOURNEY THAILAND
I recently had the opportunity to visit Thailand for the fourth time! Thailand holds a special place in my heart because of the amazing people, culture, food, and all around experiences in health and wellness. I spent a week exploring Chiang Mai, Pai, and Bangkok on an epic Women’s Journey Thailand with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
CHIANG MAI
We started our trip in Chiang Mai where we were hosted by The Dhara Dhevi hotel. The property is one of the most stunning properties I’ve stayed in, from the moment I arrived I immediately felt like I was arriving at my very own palace. The details of the buildings are stunning, I could have easily spent a week alone at this property! Dhara Dhevi also has the most stunning pool ever! We stayed in The Royal Residence villas which contains six private Lanna-style pavilions.
THINGS TO DO:
- Wellness classes such as Thai Boxing
- Spend a day at the spa
- Dine at La Grand Lanna
- Chiang Mai city tour (Wat Suan Dok, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chiang Man and more)
- Explore Nimman Road
- Dine at Blackitch Artisan Kitchen for delicious chef’s table menu
- Explore “Wualai Walking Street” or the Saturday Night Market
Read more about things to do in Chiang Mai from my last trip.
PAI
Pai is a cute town situated in a valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains and takes 3 hours from Chiang Mai by car. If you easily get car sick, be prepared because there are 762 curves to Pai! Take Dramamine 30 minutes before the drive and you’ll be fine. Our group checked into the Reverie Siam Resort for two nights. The resort is super cute, rustic and has an old charm to it from the decoration which I loved!
THINGS TO DO:
- Explore the local market and Thai cooking class at the resort
- Ko Ku So Bridge is a bamboo walkway above rice paddy fields built by local villagers to allow monks to access the village from the temples
- Pai Canyon is a great spot for sunset
- Dinner at Baan Benjarong
- Explore Pai Walking Street at night
- White Buddha Temple
- Lunch at Earth Tone for healthy vegan food! Order everything because it’s all so good!
- Explore Tham Lod Cave. Our group did not get a chance to do this but if you have the time it’s a must!
BANGKOK
THINGS TO DO:
- Traditional Thai Massage
- Cooking Class at The Peninsula. I made the best Pad Thai ever!
- City Tour and temples (Wat Arun, Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew)
- Visit the local markets
- Rot Fai Market at night
- TRIA Medial Center for a day of relaxation
While in Bangkok our group attended The Women’s Journey Welcome Reception Dinner at Nai Lert Park. The theme was a tropical garden and it was decorated beautifully. The dinner is in celebration of women traveler’s around the world. We were all invited to experience the beautiful country of Thailand. Dinner was delicious as it was prepared by a local Michelin Star chef and throughout the night there were performances we all enjoyed watching.
Thank you, Tourism Authority of Thailand for inviting me to such a special event and showing me the beauty of Thailand through amazing dining experiences and health & wellness. Thailand is a great place for women travelers and even solo travelers. I cannot wait to be back and explore the old and new parts of Thailand.
