MY PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR

Upper West Side

I’m constantly getting asked what camera I use for my photos so here’s a full guide on my photography gear for travelers and equipment I use for my photos.

All items are linked to my Amazon Storefront where I earn a small commission. Thank you for always using my links!

CANON EOS 5D MARK IV SLR CAMERA

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is my go-to camera for all my photos. The camera is a little heavy but I absolutely love it. What I love about Canon cameras is the colors – it tends to be softer on completion on the skin. This camera also has a built-in WIFI so you can transfer your images to your phone immediately and also has the Canon Camera Connect App where you can connect the camera to your phone and take images using your camera as a remote.

CANON EF 16-35mm f/2.8 III USM LENS

My favorite photography gear is my travel lens; the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8. It’s versatile when traveling. At 16mm it’s wide enough to capture most buildings, scenery and at 35mm you can easily get portrait photos at an aperture of 2.8. I carry this lens with me everywhere!

SIGMA PRIME LENS FOR CANON

If you’re looking for a cheaper option for the lens, the Sigma lens is amazing for Canon! I love the Sigma 50mm F/1.4 is my most used camera lens for capturing portraits. I have multiple Sigma lens including Sigma 28mm F/1.4 and Sigma 14mm F/1.8mm. It creates beautiful sharp and crisp images with amazing bokeh (blurry background).

CANON EF 70-200mm f/2.8L

This is my most recent purchase! The Canon EF 70-200mm F2.8 is a large lens but is amazing! I rented this lens when I went to Kenya for my honeymoon and fell in love with it. You can check out my blog post for all the photos I captured during the safari. I mostly use this for capturing telephoto shots.

DJI MAVIC PRO

I have the first version of the DJI Mavic Pro drone and it works great! However, if you’re looking for a drone now, I suggest the newer model such as the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum (smaller and lighter) or the DJI Mavic Pro 2 since it’s been upgraded with better camera quality, smaller and lighter in size.

CANON POWERSHOT G7 X

I’ve had the Canon Powershot G7 X camera for a while now and only use it for vlogging purposes if I do. It’s small, lightweight, and great for vlogging.

CAMERA TRIPOD

This lightweight aluminum camera tripod is great for traveling. It is lightweight yet sturdy and does what it is intended to do. I absolutely recommend this tripod.

EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

This Lacie hard drive is really useful in storing backups and one of the best quality hard drives.

SANDISK EXTREME PRO MEMORY CARD

The Sandisk memory card has great speed and capacity to hold images and videos. I recommend using the memory card with a higher MB/s such as 300.

SELFIE STICK PHONE TRIPOD

I use this Ubeesize tripod at home for my TikTok videos! It’s perfect for taking standstill photos and videos with your phone. The tripod extends from 17.5 inches to 51.0 inches and can be rotated at 180 and 360 degrees for your desired angle. The tripod also comes with a Bluetooth remote to help you take your photos and videos easily. It’s also great to travel with.

ANKER PORTABLE POWER BANK

This Anker portable power bank is the best! I always carry this with me when I travel. It holds enough battery for up to almost 5 full phone charges. There are two USB ports allowing you to charge two devices simultaneously. It is great for traveling or when you’re out all day and won’t have any access to any outlets.

NEEWER RING LIGHT

The Neewer ring light is very popular this year since we’re all home during quarantine and making plenty of TikTok videos! It’s really helpful in creating well lit and high-quality images and videos at home. Using a ring light is beneficial for portraits, close-ups, eliminating shadows, and evening out lighting.

SCREEN BACKDROP & BACKGROUND

This backdrop stand is perfect for creating backgrounds at home or at an event. The structure can be easily put together by yourself with easy to follow directions. The storage bag that comes with it allows for easy organization and storage. I use a white fabric backdrop from Amazon but you can also use any type of cloth you may have around at homes such as a bed sheet or table cloth.

SAVAGE SEAMLESS BACKGROUND PAPER

If you like the paper background I highly recommend the Savage Seamless Background Paper. They come in many different colors and are great for home photoshoots and portraits. This backdrop fabric is great for creating a background for photos, videos, or even Zoom meetings.

GOOSENECK PHONE HOLDER

I use the Gooseneck phone holder for filming food clips or anytime I need to be hands-free. It’s sturdy yet flexible enough to twist and turn until your desired position. You just need to simply clamp this onto your desk, kitchen table, or anywhere with a clamp-able area.

You can find all products on my Amazon Store Front including other of my favorite products.

What a great post. I never even knew of the gooseneck phone holder but I’m definitely going to buy one now! I’m also going to look into the drone – don’t know why it never occurred to me to buy a drone for great birds eye view photos!!
