THE BEST OF MADRID

I just got back from my recent trip to Madrid with the Tourist Office of Spain and I’m already wanting to go back! I visited a few years ago but only had 48 hours to explore the city, it definitely was not enough! I’m so glad I was given an opportunity to come back and see the best of Madrid with locals themselves. Maria and Mery who were our guides during the trip created an incredible 3 day itinerary for our group of the best things to see, do and eat!

MUST DOS

Circulo de Bellas Artes – The Circulo de Bellas Artes is one of the best rooftops in Madrid. The views were incredible and drinks are delicious. I highly suggest going for sunset and purchasing tickets in advance. Tickets can be purchased in person.

Circulo de Bellas Artes

Retiro Park & Crystal Palace – The Retiro Park is Madrid’s largest park. On a nice day, spend some time rowing boats around the lake and do not miss Crystal Palace. It’s stunning!

Massage & Relaxation at Anssora Spa in Euro Stars Madrid Tower – Maria and Mery spoiled us with a day at the spa at one of Madrid’s tallest buildings. The views were stunning! It’s always a good idea to spend time relaxing at a spa and getting a massage, don’t you agree? =)

Temple of Debod – The Temple of Debod is worth visiting during sunset. It’s an ancient Egyptian temple that was dismantled and rebuilt in Madrid.

Shopping – Madrid is known for it’s shopping. Salesas is an area with very cute streets and boutique shops.

WHERE TO EAT

Arzabal – This restuarant is super cute and has outdoor seating, great for summer! The food was phenomenal and I highly suggest coming here for lunch. What to order: Fries with truffles and red beef sirloin!

Dray Martina – Another cute restaurant! Loved coming here for lunch, the food was delicious and the dessert blew my mind! Everything here looked amazing and I’m sure you cannot go wrong with any of their dishes. My top picks: Squid ink croquettes, tuna tartar, happy birthday chocolate cake!

Dray Martina

La Habanera – Amazing brunch! How cute is this place though? The ambiance and decor is an instagrammers dream. What to order: Special brunch for two people and you’ll get a salty dish and ending with a sweet dish (images below).

La Cocina de San Anton – Awesome location since it’s on a rooftop of a market. Not the best photo below of the ham but this was the BEST jamon ever!!! Definitely come for the ham!

La Cocina de San Anton

Origin Taberna – This is near Temple of Debod and they have amazing tapas! Definitely come here after visiting Temple of Debod. What to order: Cuttle fish burger and crispy baby squid bao.

Yakitoro – Japanese inspired restaurant with amazing food! We ordered tons of sharable food and loved every single item. What to order: everything!

Chocolateria San Gines – Spain is known for the churros so you must go here. It’s one of the most popular churro places and it definitely was worth the calories.

Cereal Hunters – What a fun concept right? Basically, it’s made to order by choosing your cereal, topping, and milk.

Mercado de San Miguel – Spain’s markets are one of the best! They have tons of vendor stalls with great food selection and it’s super cheap. Don’t miss it!

This trip was so much fun! We ate very well and yes Spain has some of the best foods in the world! I would come back just to eat any day. Not only is the food amazing but the people are one of the nicest! Madrid has some of the most beautiful architecture and history. I loved my time here and can’t wait to return.
