HOW TO SEE CYPRUS IN ONE WEEK
I was recently in Cyprus for a week with the Cyprus Tourism Board and had one of the most amazing trips! To be honest, I had no idea where or what Cyprus was but when I started doing my research I found Cyprus to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world and it really is! Cyprus is an island in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea with the third largest and third most populous island. I spent an entire week exploring most of the southern part from Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos. Here’s how to see Cyprus in one week with everything you need to see, do and eat.
Things To Know Before Your Trip:
- Language: Greek, Turkish and English
- Currency: Euro
- Cyprus is great to visit year round. I visited in April
- Best way to get around is by car
DAY 1 & 2 – AYIA NAPA
One of my favorite areas in Cyprus is Ayia Napa. They have so many beautiful beaches that will have you never wanting to leave.
Where To Stay: Grecian Park Hotel has the best views of the Mediterranean Sea and its own private beach. This hotel is in the perfect location to explore Ayia Napa. The staff is friendly, accommodating and they have the best restaurants in town. With a total of 10 restaurants and bars, you’ll never want to leave the hotel. I loved Ravioli’s Italian Restaurant so much we ate here every night. I highly recommend ordering the bruschetta.
What To Do:
- Ayia Napa Sculpture Park
- Nissi & Makronissos Beach. Nissi Beach is the most stunning beach with clear blue waters!
- Cape Greco Sea Caves is a MUST!
- Explore Protaras
- Lunch at Ayia Napa Harbour at Vassos Fish Tavern. Most delicious meal and best seafood in the area!
DAY 3 – LARNACA CITY & NICOSIA
Explore Larnaca City on the way to Nicosia.
Where To Stay: Hilton Cyprus
What To Do:
- Salt lake of Larnaca. If you’re lucky the lake is pink and has flamingoes!
- Larnaca City Center
- Lunch at Kafe Tis Chrysanthi’s. Healthy and cutest lunch spot!
- Explore the village of Lefkara. Known for its handcrafted lace embroideries and cute streets for photos
- Explore Nicosia, capital of Cyprus
DAY 4 – KAKOPETRIA & KALOPANAYIOTIS
From Larnaca, stop by the village of Kakopetria for lunch on the way to Kalopanayiotis. The best thing about Cyprus is the cute towns you find during your drive.
Where To Stay: Casale Panayiotis Traditional Village Hotel & Spa. The most unique hotel with beautiful guest rooms overlooking the mountain range.
What To Do:
- Explore the village of Kakopetria
- Lunch at The Old Mill Cafe Bar to have the BEST buttered grilled trout!! You won’t regret it!
- Explore Kalopanayiotis
- Spa treatment at the hotel
- Hiking trails
DAY 5 – OMODOS & LIMASSOL
Where To Stay: Four Seasons Limassol is stunning and one of the most luxurious hotels in Cyprus! My favorite part of the hotel is the lounge chairs by the pool and beach. I could have easily spent the entire day here.
What To Do:
- Explore the village of Omodos. I spent a lot of time shopping and capturing images of the cute colorful doorways
- Lunch at Katoi Restaurant in Omodos
- Explore Limassol marina
- Dinner at Theta Healthy Eating Cuisine
DAY 6 & 7 – PAPHOS
Where To Stay: Anassa Hotel is my favorite hotel in all of Cyprus! If you plan on splurging on a hotel, this is the one! I never wanted to leave, located right on the beach and with multiple pools it was easy to relax here all day.
What To Do:
- Kato Paphos Archaeological Park contains the Greek and Roman city
- Petra Tou Romiou is the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite
- Cap St. George’s Beach Club for best cocktails in town and best view for sunset
- Blue Lagoon in Akamas
- Lunch at Yiannis Tavern
Have I convinced you to visit Cyprus yet?! Cyprus can easily be done in a week but if you have more time to explore I recommend spending more time to see the rest of the Island! I can’t wait to be back already.
