Growing up I would wash my hair daily until my hairstylist advised me to stop as it can cause dryness and takes away your natural oils that your hair needs to stay silky and healthy (depending on your hair type). I started washing my hair less frequently throughout the years and dry shampoo is now my go-to product when it comes to saving my hair in between washes. It also saves me a lot of time every morning as it can take me hours to get ready after washing my hair. I’ve tried many dry shampoos but most recently I started testing the Pantene Waterless Collection and excited to share my results!
So, what is dry shampoo? Dry shampoo is a type of shampoo that reduces hair greasiness without using water. It absorbs the oils making your hair look fresh and clean.
I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days and have colored/thick and frizzy hair. In between my wash days, I’ve been using the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner. This specific product is great because it provides 24-hour frizz protection. I hold the can 6-8 inches away from my hair and spray from the mid-lengths and downwards on my dry hair. I always run my fingers through my hair, and I swear I immediately can feel how clean my hair is! It’s also great for a quick retouch for a boost of silky smoothness and it also smells amazing!
The past week I’ve also tried the Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam. The foam absorbs the dirt and oil from your hair instantly! What I love about this product is that it gave my hair a fresh wash look without having to wash! It’s great for curly and dry hair. To apply the dry shampoo, first, shake the can well and dispense a small amount into fingertips. Section your hair and start with small amounts on dry hair and rub it in. Brush out and style your hair for your final look!
By the third or fourth day, I usually like to style my hair in cute braids. So, ditch the messy bun and braid your hair! Here’s how to do it:
- Section your hair down the middle into two sections
- Braid your hair from behind your ear into regular braids
- Tie the ends with an elastic/hair tie
- Pull out the braids to get a large messy braid
- Add flowers to the braids
- I like to re-spray the Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner around the ends of my hair for a finished look
If you’re looking to try a line of waterless products, give the Pantene Waterless Collection a try! All products are free of sulfates and parabens.
As someone who is constantly on the go and a full-time traveler – I rely on dry shampoo for great hair days on my non-wash days and trust me you will love it as much as I do! Next time you’re shopping online at Walmart – make sure you add this to your cart!
