All eyes are on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding today and I know I’ll be tuning in to watch the big ceremony everyone has been waiting for! I hope you are too! In celebration of the biggest wedding of the year, I have partnered with Visit California to explore Southern California like a royal where Ryan and I dined at some of the best restaurants, experienced five-star luxury hotels and adventured through California like a royal. The best part is you can too! Below is the perfect 4-day itinerary on how to adventure through Newport Beach, Temecula, Palm Springs and Los Angeles.
NEWPORT BEACH
Newport Beach is 15 minutes from the John Wayne Airport which makes it super convenient! Since Ryan and I flew from San Francisco, we had an easy hour and a half flight. After we landed, we picked up our rental. A car is the best way to explore California.
Where To Stay: Lido House
Things To Do:
- Bike ride on the beach
- Whale Watching
- Balboa Fun Zone
- Balboa and Newport pier
- Dinner Cruise
- Duffy Boat Rentals to explore the harbor
- Water activities: surfing, kayaking, standup paddleboarding, etc
- Lunch at Balboa Lily’s and do not leave without trying their lattes!
- Cocktails at Lido House Rooftop
TEMECULA
Temecula Valley is known for the Temecula Valley Wine Country and is an hour from Newport Beach. With plenty of great wineries, watching a Broadway show and going on a hot air balloon ride, Ryan and I truly fell in love with the city! Our favorite activity was going on the hot air balloon ride for sunrise, it was one of the best experiences on our trip.
Where To Stay: South Coast Winery Resort & Spa
What To Do:
- Wine Tasting & lunch at Fazelli Cellars: order the shrimp flatbread!
- Pechanga Casino
- Watch a musical
- Hot air ballooning
- Golf
- Temecula Valley Museum
- Dinner in Old Town
PALM SPRINGS
Palm Springs is a little over an hour from Temecula and is located in the Sonoran Desert. It’s known for its hot springs, trendy hotels, golf courses and spas. Ryan and I spent a day here but we could have easily spent a few more days which I highly recommend doing.
Where To Stay:
What To Do:
- Spa day at the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows
- Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
- Biking, hiking and horseback riding
- Moorten Botanical Garden
- The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens
- Palm Springs Art Museum
- Cabazon Dinosaurs
- A house with a pink door is a great spot for Instagram
LOS ANGELES
Meghan Markle is now a member of the British royal family. She is born and raised in Los Angeles just like myself! Since growing up in Los Angeles, I never had much time to explore my own city so I was super excited to be able to spend a day with Ryan showing him around and living like a royal in my own hometown! Los Angeles is a large city with so much to see and do. I highly recommend spending at least 3 days to be able to see everything LA has to offer.
Where To Stay: The Beverly Hills Hotel
What To Do:
- Santa Monica Beach
- Venice Beach
- Shopping on Rodeo Drive
- Hiking at the Hollywood Sign
- Los Angeles County Museum of Art
- Griffith Observatory
- Helicopter ride
- Skyspace LA
Thank you, again to Visit California for letting Ryan and I live like a royal for a few days throughout Southern California! Even though we’re not part of the royal family, we sure felt like it!
