During my most recent trip to Maui, I stayed at Hotel Wailea: an all-suite adults-only hotel. Maui is a dream destination for couples and Hotel Wailea is the perfect location to relax and enjoy your vacation away from the beachfront crowds. Hotel Wailea is also the only Relais & Chateaux Hotel in Hawaii. The intimate 5-star resort is located 300 feet above the sea and 30 minutes from the Kahului Airport.
The moment Ryan and I arrived at the property the staff quickly greeted us and made sure to carry our luggage. Once we checked in we were escorted to our suite.
OCEAN VIEW SUITE
The property has 72 luxury one bedroom suites at 720 square feet. Our suite has a separate bedroom and living area which also include kitchenettes, WiFi, balcony ocean views and some of the comfiest linens. I loved how spacious our suite was and when we arrived we were greeted with the freshest plate of tropical fruits.
THE POOL
The pool area is one of my favorite places to hang out. The staff at the pool area were awesome, always making sure our drinks were perfect and they were also really fun to talk to. The private cabanas also had board games and I made sure Ryan and I played a few rounds of Jenga! He lost every time. Every Saturday morning the pool area offers complimentary mixology classes, we missed it this time around but I’m sure we’ll make sure to attend the next time we’re back!
EXCLUSIVE GUEST PRIVILEGES
- Complimentary valet or self-parking services
- Complimentary car services within Wailea
- Beach valet services
- Access to private cabanas
- 24hr access to the fitness studio and classes
- Half or full day bike rentals
- Complimentary events/classes throughout the week
- Dry cleaning & laundry service
THE RESTAURANT
The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea offers some of the best and creative dishes on the island. The menu is created around what is readily available from the farms on the island and artisanal products grown in the restaurant’s garden. Ryan and I had breakfast every morning at The Restaurant and had dinner twice at The Restaurant. Some of my favorite dishes at dinner are the Hawaiian Ahi Poke, Kampachi Crudo, and Truffle Risotto. For breakfast, do not miss out on the Acai Bowl and Smoked Salmon Benedict!
The property also has a special Treehouse Dining experience, a 7-course private chef dinner with stunning ocean views at $600 per person with $75 wine pairing. This is perfect for a special occasion.
ACTIVITIES
- Kiteboarding lessons
- Sunset sailing
- Outrigger canoeing
- Aerial yoga
- Beach picnic
- Couples massage
I highly recommend taking advantage of the activities Hotel Wailea provides on the property if you have the time to experience them. There is something for everyone and the property itself is one of the prettiest properties I’ve gotten to experience. Hotel Wailea is the perfect romantic getaway for lovebirds and honeymooners.
