GLAMPING AT SCARABEO CAMP
Most people go to Morocco and visit the Sahara Desert but if you don’t have the time to spend more then 10 hours driving to the Sahara, the next best option is glamping at Scarabeo Camp in the Agafay Desert. Scarabeo Camp is a luxury camp located 45 minutes from Marrakech. You won’t get the soft sand from the Sahara, but the stone desert camp is just as amazing.
Christina from The Bold Brunette and I who I was traveling to Morocco with, we only had a few days to explore so when we found a desert camp only 45 minutes away from Marrakech we knew we had to experience it for ourselves! One night is more than enough at the camp, the oriental-inspired tents are spacious, comfortable and you will definitely feel like you’re not missing out on the Sahara one bit! The property has plenty of space to relax, they also offer special events for birthdays, weddings, etc.
GLAMPING AT SCARABEO CAMP
We arrived near noon, we were greeted by the staff with fresh Moroccan treats and tea while we waited for our rooms to become available. The decoration around the desert makes you feel like you’ve gone back into time. They had old cameras, bags, globes, Moroccan lanterns and Berber rugs throughout the main tent.
When our rooms were ready, the staff brought us to our individual rooms. Scarabeo offers 15 tents, 8 Double Suites, 2 Twin Suites and 5 Family Suites. We each had a double room which was very spacious, the bathroom is super clean and the bed is surprisingly very comfortable! I’ve been to other luxury camps and this was the best experience! Most tents also have outdoor patios to lounge and enjoy some peace and quiet. In the tents, there is no electricity. Every night the staff will turn on lanterns throughout the room and property.
ACTIVITIES AT SCARABEO CAMP
- Lawn Bowling (included)
- Board Games (included)
- Dune Buggy Tour
- Quad or Bike Tour
- Massage
- Camel Rides
DINING AT SCARABEO CAMP
All meals are included in the package. After checking into our tents the first day we then had beautiful Moroccan lunch. For dinner, they turn on the fire at certain bonfire areas. Dinner is served in the main tent where we had a feast amongst the stars. In the morning before checking out, breakfast will be served at your leisure with Moroccan pancakes and eggs.
I had such an awesome experience glamping at Scarabeo Camp and highly recommend anyone visiting Morocco to spend a night at Scarabeo! If you’re looking for things to do in Morocco, here’s a full 10-day Morocco itinerary on everything you should do!
