If you’ve been following me for the last few months you’ve probably noticed that I’ve recently switched cameras. Since I have a few upcoming trips, I decided to request an Uber and go to my local camera store. The recently launched Uber Rewards program is perfect for a frequent rider like me. I’ve been waiting for this to happen for a while!
Going to the camera store is one of the most important parts of prepping for any trip. Making sure that I have an SD card with enough space and updating any other gear is essential to capturing beautiful photos and videos and, ultimately, sharing my trip with all of you! During this particular trip, my driver-partner was super friendly and I loved that she asked me about my plans for the day.
After she dropped me off, I picked up a new SD card, and since I was in the store, I decided to look at a few lenses.
I’ve had my eye on a prime lens with a low f-stop, which means that this lens does not have a zoom with a low f-stop. It gives my images the bokeh effect that I love. I decided against buying the lens at that time since I wasn’t sure if it was something that I needed at that exact moment. After purchasing my new SD card, I requested my Uber, but couldn’t stop thinking about the lens. I realized that I needed it, canceled my ride and ran back in to get it.
With the Flexible Cancellations benefit on Uber Rewards, since I canceled and rebooked within 15 minutes, my cancellation fees are refunded, which is perfect for moments like this. This is one of the benefits of the Gold Tier, which I’m in! It gave me the time I needed to purchase the lens and not be stressed about missing my ride.
After purchasing my new lens, I decided to request a ride to Washington Square Park to test my new lens. Below are a few shots I began taking throughout the park and I love the way they came out!
Since I spent the day requesting rides around the city, I accumulated 64 points! I love that I’m earning points doing things that I would already be doing like requesting rides and ordering Uber Eats! With the new Uber Rewards program, members earn points per eligible dollar with every eligible ride or Uber Eats order, unlocking benefits that give more time and flexibility.
HOW TO EARN POINTS
- Earn 1 point for every eligible dollar spent on Shared Rides and Uber Eats
- You can earn 2x points for every eligible dollar spent on UberX, UberXL, SELECT
- Earn 3x points for every eligible dollar spent on Uber Black or Black SUV
The four Tiers are Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. It takes six months worth of usage to define your initial tier. From there, the points you earn go towards potentially moving into the next Tier.
I love brands that give back to their customers and I’m pretty happy with this new Uber Rewards program! Before I know it, I’ll be part of the Diamond Tier! Are you earning rewards on your Uber rides and Uber Eats orders yet?
