BEST THINGS TO DO IN HO CHI MINH CITY
I was recently invited to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITEHCMC). This was my first hosted media conference and it was an awesome experience. We spent a week in Vietnam, two days at the conference and the rest exploring Ho Chi Minh and Phu Yen. We ate at some of the best restaurants and experienced the best things in Ho Chi Minh City.
The conference was full of guests from all over the world. They truly knew how to host their guests as they had put me in one of the best boutique hotels in Ho Chi Minh! I stayed at The Myst Dong Khoi in District 1 which was prime location and had a rooftop pool! ITEHCMC is the largest travel event in Vietnam where international and regional buyers, suppliers, trade professionals and media from travel organizations meet and gain inspiration for future business opportunities. I found the conference not too large and not too small. If you’re in the travel industry I highly recommend visiting ITEHCMC next year, it’s a great way to network and experience Ho Chi Minh.
BEST THINGS TO DO IN HO CHI MINH
DINE AT EON 51 – Highest restaurant in Ho Chi Minh and has stunning views of the city
BINH QUOI VILLAGE – A tourist attraction where tourists can paddle in the lake, go fishing and eat at the all you can eat buffet.
RIVER TOUR – My favorite activity in Ho Chi Minh was going on the river cruise. Groups of 4 are loaded into a small boat where they offer you fruits and coconut juice while you go down the Saigon River. Throughout the river, there’s singers and even people playing magic tricks!
VISIT TEMPLES – There’s plenty in Vietnam but we visited Phuoc An Hoi Quan
AU DAI MUSEUM – Vietnamese dresses are unique and spending an hour at the museum to learn about the history of Vietnamese dresses is really interesting
A O SHOW AT THE SAIGON OPERA HOUSE – Amazing show and worth booking seats for!
EAT BANH XEO – I had at least 3 people recommend this hole in the wall Banh Xeo restaurant so we had to go! It was definitely worth it! You’ll also find the pink church a block away.
DRINK VIETNAMESE COFFEE – They’re everywhere! Definitely, a must when in Vietnam!
POST SHOW TOURS
As I was a hosted media, we were offered a few options for a post-show tour to experience more of Vietnam. I decided to explore Phu Yen in two days and loved visiting the seaside town. You can read about the top 6 Awesome Things to do in Phu Yen.
