AMAZING THINGS TO DO IN GRAND CAYMAN

Camana Bay

I just visited Grand Cayman for the first time a few weeks ago and was blown away by how much I’ve fallen in love with the island! There are many amazing things to do in Grand Cayman, I know I’ll be visiting for years to come. I was invited by Camana Bay, a waterfront town near Seven Mile Beach with plenty of things to do like shopping, movies, restaurants and hundreds of events throughout the year. This time of year is special, I visited around the holidays and they had holiday events all week!

The holiday season at Camana Bay starts around the third to fourth week of November starting with the Annual Tree Lighting. Throughout the holiday season, they offer Capella Music Festival, Parade of Lights (which I attended), Holiday Cooking Classes and so much more!

My friend and I stayed at the Luxury Seafire Resort & Spa on Seven Mile Beach and had the most amazing experience! What I really loved about the resort is that they have The Residences at Seafire, so if you love staying at the resort I’m sure you will want to purchase your very own condo! We spent 5 days exploring Grand Cayman, the largest island in the Cayman Islands and loved all the fun activities, here’s a list of my favorite things to do in Grand Cayman.

AMAZING THINGS TO DO IN GRAND CAYMAN

1. CAMANA BAY

Camana Bay as mentioned earlier is a fun town that offers the best shopping, restaurants, events and even some relaxation on an island at the dock. I spent plenty of time taking Instagramable photos and relaxing on the hammock. After a fun-filled day of activities at Camana Bay, walk over to Seven Mile Beach. A great place for kids and family!

The Observation Tower in Camana Bay is free and offers stunning views of Grand Cayman.

3. FLAVOUR TOUR

We attended the Flavour Tour in Camana Bay, which is an event that offers guests to indulge in some of the best food and drinks in town. The restaurant’s changes by the week, we were able to visit the West Indies Wine Company, The Brooklyn, Abacus, Pani Indian Kitchen, and Gelato & Co. The tour is every Wednesday night from 7-9pm and tickets can be purchased on the website.

4. FARMERS & ARTISANS MARKET

I love attending local farmers markets and Camana Bay has one every Wednesday with more than 40 shops and restaurants offering fresh products, specialty foods, gifts, jewelry, and so many other fun products! They also have live music, artists creating their crafts in real time and cultural demonstrations of rope making, conch blowing, etc.

5. SHOPPING

Grand Cayman is known for it’s shopping and the best place is in Camana Bay! A few of my favorite shops was Island Jewellers. They have over 40 locally owned boutique shops. The best part about shopping in Grand Cayman is that it’s tax-free!

7. KAIBO & RUM POINT

Take Cayman Ferries from Camana Bay Harbour to Kaibo & Rum Point to relax, have lunch and the famous mudslide at Rum Point. I didn’t get a chance to try it but I heard it’s a must!

8. STINGRAY CITY

You cannot leave Grand Cayman without seeing the famous stingrays at Stingray City! We went with Cayman Luxury Charters who picked us up from Camana Bay Harbour to spend a day with the gentle stingrays. I was honestly a little terrified for the first five minutes, but our tour guides were super helpful in making us feel comfortable. The stingrays were super soft, friendly and harmless. Apparently, the story of how Stingray City began was based on fisherman’s who used this area to clean their catch for the day and stingrays would come by to eat the leftovers. Tour companies have now been operating for many years here, I highly recommend visiting!

9. STARFISH POINT

Starfish Point is a beautiful secluded beach with shallow, clear waters with tons of colorful starfishes. We visited Starfish Point after Stingray City with Cayman Luxury Charters.

10. HOLIDAY EVENTS

I’m so happy I was able to visit Grand Cayman during the holiday season! I’m now obsessed with a tropical holiday every year! I was lucky to attend the Annual Parade of Lights where multiple b0ats decorate their boats with holiday decorations and sail through the Camana Bay Harbour. It’s a large event each year, with holiday music, activities, food, and fireworks to end the night. Here’s a list of some of the best holiday events in Grand Cayman. Camana Bay doesn’t just have events during the holidays, there are over 600 events year round!

11. DINE AT THE BEST GRAND CAYMAN RESTAURANTS

Grand Cayman is known for their food so make sure to eat at all the best restaurants on the island! A few of my favorite Grand Cayman restaurants were right in Camana Bay, especially The Brooklyn and Jessie’s Juice Bar for the best juice and snacks. A few other great restaurants are Bacaro at the Grand Cayman Yacht Club and Avecita at Seafire Resort & Spa.

That’s it!! There are so many amazing things to do in Grand Cayman but these are my top favorites! I love that Grand Cayman is the perfect place for couples, kids, families, pretty much the perfect destination for everyone! I cannot wait to return and explore more of the island.

I will be visiting the Cayman Islands in a few weeks and Im so excited! I was wondering how you took your photos at Sting Ray City and with the starfish. I wasn’t sure if I should splurge on a waterproof case or just stick to a cheap waterproof bag.
