6 AWESOME THINGS TO DO IN PHU YEN

Phu Yen is a province in Vietnam on the south-central coast and the capital is Tuy Hoa where I visited for two days with ITEHCMC as their post tour. I had little knowledge of Phu Yen except the fact that my mother grew up 30km away from Tuy Hoa. With close to 1 million people and only a 40-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City, it’s the perfect weekend getaway. It’s fairly untouched with roads only three years old and cows crossing the roads and beaches. Here are 6 amazing things to do in Phu Yen, Vietnam.

1. NHAN TOWER

Nhan Tower was built by The Champa people who are the first people living in Phu Yen. There’s still about 300,000 descendants in Vietnam!

2. DIEN CAPE LIGHTHOUSE & MON BEACH

Spend a day at the secluded beach and take a hike up to the Dien Cape Lighthouse

3. MANG LANG CHURCH

Mang Lang Church is a Roman Catholic church that was built in 1892.

4. DA DIA REEF

My favorite visit in Phu Yen was Da Dia Reef! It was definitely a tourist attraction as it had crowds but I can see why. The rock formations are out of this world!

5. SUNSET OR SUNRISE AT A BEACH (XEP BEACH)

They have the prettiest sunsets and sunrises so I highly recommend spending time watching either. How lucky were we to watch cows walk across the beach during sunset?

6. STAY AT VIETSTAR RESORT & SPA

The only resort you should stay at when visiting Phu Yen! Vietstar Resort & Spa is a 5-star resort with villas and an awesome pool. It’s also only 15 minutes away from the beach by a cart car provided by the hotel.

Overall, I loved visiting Phu Yen as a quick and relaxing getaway. Since it’s still getting developed into a more touristy destination, I think in a couple years it may be a hot spot for many tourists!
