Barcelona is known to have the most amazing food and best tapas in the world! If you haven’t read my latest post on Tickets Bar you probably should go read it after this post. There are no limitations because Spain is pretty cheap when it comes to food and wine! What I really love about dining in Barcelona is all of the outdoor seating, perfect for those summer nights! Here is a quick guide on where to eat in Barcelona.
La Bouqueria Market
La Boqueria is a large public market in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. The market has a great selection of good and fresh food. I suggest trying the eggs with baby squid at El Quim. You will find colorful sweets, spices and juices all over the market. I opted for the juices and it was so fresh and only 2 euros! Address: La Rambla, 91, 08001, Barcelona
I was seeing multiple photos on Instagram of the famous kronuts at Chok and had to try it! I’m a huge fan of the well known cronuts by Dominique Ansel in New York! The store is so cute with pastel colors and I loved the way the donuts were hanging off the walls. I wanted to try everything but only had the kronuts. Address: Carrer de Carme, 3, Barcelona
Xurreria is one of the best churros in Barcelona. After visiting Madrid and having changed my mind about churros since I was never a fan, I was on a mission to eat all the churros I could while in Spain. Xurreria has multiple locations throughout Barcelona and this one is right outside Sagrada Familia which was convenient. The churro is pretty good and they have a few flavor options such as caramel, chocolate and cream. Address: Placa de la Sagrada Familia, 26, 08013 Barcelona
Ten’s Tapas Restaurant
Ten’s is a 2 michelin star restaurant. Every single dish was fresh and full of flavors. We came here for lunch and had a great time! The oysters were one of the favorites.
Cerveseria Catalana is a locals favorite. A few friends recommended this restaurant so I knew I had to try it. We ordered a lot of dishes but a few that stood out was the razor clams and baguette sandwiches. You gotta have the patatas bravas too! They do not take reservations so go early for a shorter wait. I waited about 20 minutes around 4:30pm. Address: Career de Mallorca, 236 08008, Barcelona
La Mar Salada
La Mar Salada is located around Port Vell and is known for having delicious paella. You can’t leave Barcelona without having paella! We had it a few times and never got sick of it. I loved this seafood paella dish! Address: Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 58-59, 08003 Barcelona
Can Paixano – Carrer de la Reina Cristina, 7, 08003 Barcelona – Very cheap delicious tapas
El Nacional – Passeig de Gràcia, 24 Bis, 08007 Barcelona – This is the first multi space restaurant in Barcelona where you can find multiple restaurants and stand alone bars. The space is beautiful, a great place for late night drinks and snacks.
El Xanpanyet – Carrer de Montcada, 22, 08003 Barcelona – Recommended by locals, small space so be prepared for a wait
Irati Taverna Basca – Carrer del Cardenal Casañas, 17, 08002 Barcelona – Best pintxos & tapas in the Gothic Quarter
La Barceloneta – C/ de l’Escar, 22 Moll dels Pescadors – (Port Vell) 08039 – Waterfront view
La Sarte – Carrer de Mallorca, 259, 08008 Barcelona – Michelin 2 star restaurant
Quimet & Quimet – Poeta Cabanyes 25, 08004 Barcelona – Rated as one of top tapas restaurant in Barcelona
