WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

Own your tomorrow

What makes you happy? This is a question that many of us ask ourselves over and over. We all know the answer but what are you doing in your life to continue that happiness? What actions are you taking to Own your Tomorrow?

As a child I was always a happy kid. I loved animals and food mostly but that hasn’t really changed much as I got older. =) Just 5 years ago while living in Los Angeles I was in a bad car accident that left me in the hospital. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life, not knowing what was wrong with me I was terrified but knew I was lucky to be alive. I went through a painful time where I was bed ridden for a month.

How did I Own my Tomorrow?

This experience made me realize how precious and short life could be. This was one of the toughest times of my life. As I began to get better I knew I had to get my happiness back. So I asked myself, what makes me happy? I wanted to always live in New York City but never had the chance to do it. This experience made me realize life is short and if I wanted to move to New York, what was stopping me? I then bought a one way ticket to New York and never looked back. This was the best decision of my life!

I have made it my life goal to always ask myself, what makes me happy? Whatever it is during that moment, just do it!

I encourage you all to ask yourself: what makes you happy? It’s never too late to Own your Tomorrow and share them with me below!

That’s why we sold our house, car, and stuff to travel for a year (or more). Sometimes you just have to jump into your dreams.

Happiness means different things to a lot of people. It doesn’t take much to make me happy either. It’s just the little things like seeing new places or spending quality time with loved ones.

I had no idea you were in a car accident while in LA. I’m so glad you made it through, followed your dreams and moved to NYC (and now SF!) – it’s so important to follow our hearts. Life is too short not to!

Such true words. You never know if this is going to be your last day on earth. Also, time passes so quickly so those things that you say you’re going to do have urgency. Book that trip now! Thanks for the reminder.

Sorry to hear about your car accident. Sometimes people unfortunately need some sort of spark to go out there and find their Why?
I often preach that time is the most precious thing we all have and its always running down. So get out there and Live.

How amazing that you were able to live your dream and do what makes you happy. I try to live by this motto as well. You just never know when your time is going to up.

This article is very timely. I’m just about to move to France for the winter. I love the freedom I have to live and work in such fantastic countries. Hopefully that will continue as Brexit takes shape.

This is why I quit my job and went traveling for six months. So I guess that traveling makes me happy :). Great post!
Btw, how is like in New York? I haven’t visited yet, but one of my dreams is to spend Christmas there.

We must live in the moment and cherish each day as it comes by. One downpoint shouldn’t deter us from living our tomorrow. Can understand your fear of being in an accident and remaining fearful about some time. Glad you listened to your heart and did what you always wanted to.
