SEVEN GLACIERS RESTAURANT REVIEW

Seven Glaciers

I stumbled on Seven Glaciers via Instagram from a fashion blogger posting amazing photos of the property. I had no idea it was actually a mountain top luxury restaurant surrounded by seven glaciers! Seven Glaciers Restaurant is located in the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska. This fine dining experience is one not to be missed, here is a full review of my dining experience.

Things to know before your visit

  • Business Casual
  • Advance reservations is recommended
  • They only hold your table for 15 minutes
  • Tram tickets is included with reservations
  • You do not need to visit the restaurant to see the seven surrounding glaciers (Due to the glaciers melting there is only 6 glaciers left)

My boyfriend and I drove from Anchorage which is roughly an hour drive. Upon arriving, the resort entrance was stunning! It really has the comforting warm welcome of a winter resort. We headed to the second floor to the entrance of the tram which runs every 30 minutes. The journey begins with a scenic tram ride to 2,300 feet above sea level. The tram ride offers amazing views of the ocean and glaciers. We saw hikers hiking up the steep mountain! I wouldn’t recommend it but all the power to you if you could do it!

Once we arrived and checked in we were seated by the windows. I highly suggest requesting window seating. The menu is a la carte but they also offer a 5 course Chef’s Tasting for $75 per person. I immediately opted for the pre fixe menu. This is a steal for an award winning restaurant and since living in New York and San Francisco this price was cheap!

Of course we ordered cocktails and their complimentary bread was delicious!!

We finished the meal with amazing dessert! A chocolate bar and cheese cake dessert had me completely satisfied. After our meal we explored the outside property. The views were stunning! It offered panoramic views of the ocean and glaciers surrounding the property.

Seven Glaciers Restaurant was truly a unique Alaskan dining experience you cannot be missed when visiting Alaska! For the price, views and amazing food it was well worth it! Even if guests do not want to dine at the restaurant the property is open to the public.

Oh wow, what an awesome place to visit and the food looks and sounds amazing. This place must be worth going to for the views alone. I bet it is in great demand. No wonder they won’t hold your table for long. Can you imagine the disappointment if you got delayed?!

Thanks for the review – we can’t wait to get back to Anchorage and would definitely make the drive for the food – you’re right; a 5 course Chef’s Tasting for $75 per person really is a steal compared to the rest of the States – everything looks delicious!!
