10 DAY MOROCCO ITINERARY

Morocco has become one of the hottest destinations in the last two years and I can see why! Morocco is gorgeous and full of beautiful doors, tiles, hotels, shopping, food, people. I can literally go on forever. It’s literally an Instagrammer’s dream to visit. My dreams finally came true a few weeks ago with the Morocco National Tourist Office where you probably have seen my photos on Insta! So many of you have been asking about my itinerary and experience so I’ve decided to share my 10 day Morocco itinerary!

Things to know before your trip:

  • Best time to visit – From March to May or Sept to Oct. I visited in May and the weather was perfect!
  • What to wear –  Men can pretty much wear whatever they want. Women should cover their shoulders and knees when visiting Mosques but in general, there was no issue in the cities. I suggest carrying a light cardigan or shawl in your bag.
  • Tipping – Rule of thumb is 1 DH at a local place and 3-5 DH at nicer places
  • Some places take credit card but cash is highly recommended
  • Bargain bargain bargain!! I’m not the best at this but ALWAYS bargain when buying something
  • Stay safe by drinking bottled water only
  • Many Moroccans speak English and a mixture of Arabic, Berber, and French
  • When in public always ask to take photos of someone or tip if you do
  • Is it safe? Yes, it is! I had no issues during my trip and I honestly had the same concerns before visiting but please note I was traveling in a large group.

10 DAY MOROCCO ITINERARY

DAY 1 – RABAT

Arrive early into Casablanca and drive to Rabat.

Where to stay: Hotel The View

The View Hotel

The View Hotel

What to do: Mausoleum of Mohammad V & Hassan Tower. Kasbah of the Udayas is my favorite thing to see in Rabat. You’ve probably seen Chefchaouen, Morocco’s Blue City all over the web. It’s quite far so if you don’t have time to visit the Blue City, The Kasbah of the Udayas in Rabat is just as good! Get lost, explore and end your day with some Moroccan delight and tea!!! You will drink lots of Moroccan tea! If you do have time to visit Chefchaouen, here’s a quick guide to Chefchaouen!

Where to eat: La Tour Hassan

DAY 2 – MEKNES & FEZ

Where to stay: La Maison Bleue. There are two locations. I highly suggest staying at the newer location (The Riad) since it’s bigger and has the pool in the courtyard. Riad El Amine is also a beautiful option. We had lunch here and loved it!

La Maison Blue

Riad Amine

Riad Amine

What to do: Volubilis is an excavated Berber and Roman city in Morocco. City tour to see Dar Jamai Museum (old riad), Sahrij Swani, Bab El Khemis (market), Les Greniers De Moulay Ismail (old horse stable), El Hedim Square, Bab Mansour (famous door)

Where to eat: Palais Terrab, Riad Amine (lunch), La Maison Bleue Restaurant (order the Bastille Dessert)

Where to stay: Hotel Es Saadi

La Mamounia (a must visit even if you’re not staying there)

What to do: Jarin Majorelle, Ben Yossef Madrasa (Islamic College) and shop shop shop! If you’re visiting Marrakech and want to spend a night in the Agafay desert, I highly suggest glamping at Scarabeo Camp. It’s  a short 45 minutes from Marrakech, making it a great alternative to the Sahara Desert if you’re short on time.

Where to eat: Dar Moha is a must!!

DAY 10 – DEPART CASABLANCA

Plan for breakfast or a good lunch before your flight back home! If you have more time feel free to edit this itinerary as you please =)

My trip was more than phenomenal and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to experience it with! I’m so blessed to have given this opportunity and see how beautiful Morocco is. I would love to return soon to spend more time in each city and visit Chefchaouen. Have you been to Morocco? What did you like most about it?

Morocco looks AMAZING!!! Everything you did looks fantastic. How did you travel around to your destinations? Did you go with a tour group?

      June 28, 2017 at 10:47 pm

Thank you Larissa! I was with the Tourism Board so they set it up for us as a tour group. I would recommend renting a car on your own or look for a tour company that has a similar itinerary.

Beautiful! Wondering how did you get around from city to city?

      August 14, 2018 at 3:20 pm

We had a driver the entire time. I would suggest looking into that for some areas or getting around by trains. The train system there is easy to use!

Hi Sara, we had our own driver. There wasn’t any specific desert tour company but the hotel helped us book the tours. Hope that helps!
